Overview
As of version 0.8.4, the AVP mod has been split from a single unified mod into three separate modules: AVP: Alien, AVP: Human, and AVP: Predator. Each module can be used independently, but all three together provide the full experience.
If migrating from the old "AVP" mod: You MUST install all three modules to avoid data loss or world corruption. The standalone legacy AVP mod is no longer updated.

Fresh Installation
To install the full AVP experience on a new world:
- Install your mod loader (Fabric or NeoForge) for Minecraft 1.21.1
- Install BLib 0.2.0+ as a dependency
- Download AVP: Alien from Modrinth or CurseForge
- Download AVP: Human from Modrinth or CurseForge
- Download AVP: Predator from Modrinth or CurseForge
- Place all mod jars in your mods folder
- Launch Minecraft and create a new world
Migrating from Legacy AVP
Back up your worlds before migrating! The different modules should migrate their respective content automatically, but it never hurts to have a backup.
- Back up your world — copy your world folder somewhere safe
- Remove the old unified
avpmod jar from your mods folder - Install all three module jars (Alien, Human, Predator) as described above
- Install BLib 0.2.0+ if not already present
- Launch Minecraft — each module should automatically migrate its respective content
- Verify your world loads correctly before removing the backup
Important: You must install all three modules even if you only want content from one faction. Missing modules may cause data corruption for content that was previously handled by the unified mod.
Module Compatibility
Each module works standalone, but some features require multiple modules:
Aberrant & Irradiated Strains
Requires AVP: Human to be installed alongside AVP: Alien.
Predalien Hosts
Requires both AVP: Alien and AVP: Predator.
Facehugger Protection (Helmet)
Only functional when AVP: Alien is also installed.
Xenomorph Hostility to Yautja
Requires both AVP: Alien and AVP: Predator.
